# Export a Schema Template

Export a reusable schema template from the Schema Templates grid.

Export a template to transfer its configuration and schemas. See [Schema Templates Concept](/guardian/workspace/schema-templates.md).

### Prerequisites

* You are signed in as a Standard Registry user.
* You can manage schema templates.
* The template exists in the **Schema Templates** grid.

### Steps

1. Open the **Schema Templates** grid.
2. Select the template to export.
3. Select **Export**.
4. Save the exported template file.

### Result

The export contains the template metadata, configuration, and schemas.
